ENG I In the exhibition The Reality of Imagination, two artistic disciplines engage in a dialogue that stimulates both the senses and the intellect. The work of Belgian painter Peter Weidenbaum and Czech jewelry designer Jiri Sibor reveals how imagination and reality are not opposites, but intertwined dimensions of the creative process. Weidenbaum transforms the everyday into sculptures and paintings imbued with a quiet intensity. Sibor, a master of goldsmithing, approaches jewelry as sculpture – tangible, layered, and rich in meaning. Both artists draw inspiration from nature, craftsmanship, and a spiritual approach to form and material. Their shared vision echoes William Blake’s belief that imagination is the true reality.

The exhibition runs from 20 September to 25 October 2025 at Villa De Bondt.

NL I In de tentoonstelling The Reality of Imagination ontmoeten twee artistieke disciplines elkaar in een dialoog die zowel zintuiglijk als intellectueel prikkelt. Het werk van de Belgische schilder Peter Weidenbaum en de Tsjechische juweelontwerper Jiri Sibor belicht hoe verbeelding en werkelijkheid geen tegenpolen zijn, maar verweven dimensies binnen het creatieve proces. Weidenbaum transformeert het alledaagse tot sculpturen en schilderijen met een verstilde intensiteit. Sibor, meester in het edelsmeedwerk, benadert juweelkunst als sculptuur: tastbaar en gelaagd. Beide kunstenaars putten uit de natuur, uit het ambacht en uit een spirituele benadering van vorm en materiaal. Hun gedeelde visie sluit aan bij William Blakes idee dat verbeelding de ware realiteit is.

De tentoonstelling loopt van 20 september tot 25 oktober 2025 in Villa De Bondt.

Les œuvres du peintre belge Peter Weidenbaum et du créateur de bijoux tchèque Jiri Sibor révèlent que l'imagination et la réalité ne sont pas opposées, mais constituent des dimensions étroitement liées du processus créatif. Weidenbaum transforme le quotidien en sculptures et en peintures empreintes d'une intensité tranquille. Sibor, maître orfèvre, aborde la joaillerie comme une sculpture : tangible, stratifiée et riche de sens. Les deux artistes s'inspirent de la nature, de l'artisanat et d'une approche spirituelle de la forme et de la matière. Leur vision commune fait écho à la conviction de William Blake selon laquelle l'imagination est la véritable réalité.
