Lookout, 2005 Contemporary art project in Tienen and Hoegaarden. Lookout is about a society-oriented creation process in which different cultures come into contact with each other and are mixed. The aim is to initiate thought processes among the young people who made a chancellery, also among all other parties involved and among the spectators who experience the whole, and not just judge aesthetics. The students, who build the hunting pulpit with him, become part of his artistic process. He extracts their activity from the structure of the school and involves them in his creative design. The project can be viewed in three places. The shopping street, the first contact with the spectator, arises with the lookout (hunting pulpit) in the middle of the city. By placing a hunting pulpit in the middle of the austere lines of a culture (the city), the viewer is immediately confronted with this mysterious object in the city. The museum, the miniature version of the lookout in the museum, makes a direct link with the version in the city but also with its equal in the forest. When the viewer looks in the miniature version, he is confronted with a short film of the forest. The museum retains its place in the exhibition as a scientific institution, where all fragments of time, sculptures and works of art are preserved as fragments in memory of an imaginary walk. The Cirkant Gallery ... as a diversion, route, walking path. the perfect location to organize a debate about the Lookout project. Intervention in collaboration with Rotaryclub Tienen, Cirkant gallery and the sugar museum, Work no longer exists, catalog with student photos, Short film, wooden sculpture in shopping street.
