This Serie consists of 11 works
In 2007, Weidenbaum created the Car Crash series, including a four-part painting inspired by Amores Perros, capturing the abrupt shift from calm to violent collision. In The Disaster and the Place, violence is more concealed. The diptych The Cabin in Montana contrasts an idyllic setting with a displaced, industrial version, referring to Theodore Kaczynski, who lived in isolation before becoming the Unabomber. Another work, Social Distance after Kertész, was made during the 2020 lockdown in Belgium, inspired by a 1919 photograph taken during the Spanish flu. Reactor 4 responds to the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, referencing the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. The painting emphasizes a fractured, deconstructed reality.
